GOING TO THE ‘A’ SIDE…MAYBE NEXT YEAR? Date: (Monday, December 29, 2008)
Happy Holidays from Team Keith’s
Red Deer, AB – Team Keith’s 3 game winning streak came to a halt Monday night. Prior to the game team representatives were told that if they won the game they would be moving to the A side for the second half of the season. “What? Impossible, how could this be? There’s no way we’re good enough for the A side.” Said a bewildered Skip Metzger who appeared as shaken up as the stock market upon hearing the news. Metzger and G.Zimmerman traded places as Zimmerman played his first game as skip. “I had a pet dog when I was young who was named Skip. He was a good dog, much better than our game tonight!” said Zimmerman after falling 8-4 to Team Olsen. It took Zimmerman and the rest of Team Keith’s a couple of ends to get going as they were down 6-0 after 2. But the team rallied and came back to score 4 of their own in the next 2 ends before Team Olsen would put up singles in the 5th and 6th to double up Team Keith’s 8-4. Metzger tried to convince members of Team Olsen that with the win they would be going to the A side, but after careful review of the standings both teams realized they are staying on the B side, with identical records of 3-4-1 at the halfway point.

Alexander Keiths Around the Rink: It was a quiet night at the RDCC Monday as the night was set aside for make-up games and fun games, but with just one make up game on the schedule few teams took advantage of the open sheets of ice. Perhaps it’s because everyone has seen enough ice on local roads lately and figured they might as well stay home. Team Joe Metzger was seen on sheet 6 taking part in a practice game as they prepare for life on the other side of the fence in the New Year. Good luck on the A side Team Metzger
