TEAM KEITH’S STEAL THEIR 3RD WIN IN A ROW
Date: (Wednesday, December 17, 2008)

Red Deer, AB Monday night marked another first for team Keith’s this year as the team played a strong defensive game resulting in the first shutout in team history.  After getting off to a quick start with 2 points in the first end, they went on to win by a touchdown stealing singles in 5 straight ends before their opponent conceded the game and took part in the ceremonious post game hand shake.  Taking a page out of the New Jersey Devils playbook Team Keith’s used a defence first approach, and although boring to watch, playing the trap worked to perfection.  “They say strong defence wins championships and I have my eyes set on 2010.  I want our team to represent Canada on the world stage” said a dreamy Skip Metzger after the game.  Like a well oiled machine Team Keith’s appears to be coming together just as efficiently as the automakers of North America have in their request for a bailout package.  People will do anything for billions of dollars.

Alexander Keiths Speaks: After a rough start Team Keith’s has rattled off 3 wins in a row and now is 3-3-1 on the season…Monday marked the 4th time this season the team has called up an AP from the farm team, this time around Kate Evanecz got the call in place of third, K.Zimmerman…Evanecz was a solid replacement who forced Skip Metzger to rethink some of his shot options during the game…Prior to the game Second G.Zimmerman and Skip Ryan Metzger shocked Lead Dianna English by making homemade pizzas, “These look awesome guys, but the cheese is supposed to go on after the toppings” she said after she caught her breathe…Both Zimmerman and Metzger have been contacted by a local Pizza 73 agent and may be starting a franchise in the near future…The group watched Mantracker on OLN but had to leave before finding out if the two runaways were caught, “I’m sure Mantracker got them, if I were ever lost in the wilderness I would want him with me!” Said G.Zimmerman…Dianna wore her Alexander Keith’s hat for the first time this year and liked how it felt...After a few minutes of discussion the Metzger family is still trying to decide the travel arrangements for Jocelyn’s cat this holiday season…Ryan, Joe, Eldon and Garrett have learned the story behind the mural on the wall in the Curling club lounge…

Alexander Keiths Around the Rink: Sheet 6 saw Team Otto go up against Team Olsen in what appeared to be a blowout.  Team Olsen scored early and often and took a 6-0 lead into the 3rd end.  Team Otto did find their scoring touch and got on the board in the 3rd and 4th ends, but just singles.  It wouldn’t be enough as Team Olsen put it in cruise control and got the victory…According to Brad Dufresne a ‘battle’ took place on sheet 8 last night.  After the 4th end Dufresne was seen getting a drink of water in an effort to rehydrate for the second half of a very close match.  Dufresne continued to rehydrate and it paid off as his team took advantage of some missed shots and took a 7-5 advantage into the 8th end after scoring 2 points in the 7th to break the deadlock en route to another ‘W’…It appears as though the intimidation factor is working for Team Metzger.  The most anticipated game of the year, Team Metzger vs. Team RDC, brought out a record crowd of 5 only to be let down.  It was reported that Team RDC was busy with ‘homework’ but experts believe they were intimidated by Team Metzger and chose not to show up.  In fact, one of the parents of a team member had purchased tickets to the game on ebay only to be stood up.  In true Metzger fashion the team didn’t let the ice sit empty as they worked on their game in preparation for their move to the ‘A’ division after Christmas…
