WHEN IT RAINS IT POURS

Red Deer, AB –
Just as Nancy Kerrigan said years ago, Skip Metzger was overheard asking, “Why? Why?” following another loss for Team Keith’s on Monday night.  Much like Kerrigan, Metzger had his knees taken out from under him in the 3rd end and never seemed to recover (much like Kerrigan’s career).  Looking to steal 2 and take the lead in the 3rd end, Team Keith’s stood and watched in denial, as the opposing skip made a shot seen only at the Brier or Tournament of Hearts!  When the rocks stopped and the brooms settled, it ended up being a score of 5 for the opposition and just like that the team’s confidence was shaken and stirred.  Team Keith’s would come back to score a pair in both the 5th and 6th ends but it was too little too late as the damage was already done.

Alexander Keiths Speaks: Team Keith’s record drops to 3-8-1, and is now teetering on the edge of embarrassment as the team has now lost a record 5 in a row…K.Zimmerman returned to the lineup after a one week scouting assignment…Her replacement last week, Kate was seen playing with Team Joe Metzger on the A side last night…Kate’s conditioning stint has landed her a steady stream of games as she plans on being on the ice 4 times this week in hopes that team brass will take note and call her up again…Lead English and K.Zimmerman were content to concede the game after 6 ends but agreed to keep playing, ‘for just one more end and that’s it’…English was the mastermind behind a tremendous pregame meal that included Salad, rice and Chicken Parmesan… “this rivals the folks at hey budda boom budda bing!  So good, sometimes I wish I was a cow and had 2 stomaches just so I could eat more,” said a very full G.Zimmerman…Metzger and G.Zimmerman were challenged to a game of ‘Mantracker’ this summer by their significant others…Location, time and rules TBD, talks with OLN have started…Team Keith’s won the coin toss to start the game, that was the only thing they won on the night…In an effort to change the team’s misfortunes of late Skip Metzger has reportedly tried to get in touch with Pierre MacGuire to see if MO is available via trade, if MO-Mentum is on the market it’s rumoured that Metzger may try to sign the free agent to a one game tryout.

Alexander Keiths Around the Rink:Action across the B side on Monday night saw 3 blowouts and a closely contested game…On sheet 1, Team Otto fell to Team Dufresne as the Dufresne rink played well on the night and put up some big points…Skip, Brad Dufresne appears to be playing with an ‘offence first’ mentality and it’s paying off…Sheet 4 was a one sided game as the teams were seen taking part in the traditional post game handshake dance after just 4 ends…The More brothers haven’t changed shampoos and continue to look like a team on a mission to represent Canada at the 2010 Olympics as they battled through their toughest game yet since coming over to the B side, it’s believed they won after falling behind early to the dentists…
